This painting began as a photograph of my neighbor lifting her hands upward to her God. Coronavirus bacteria images, changed and redone, were another visual source. My goal is to glorify God by displaying His light shining in the darkness of our "real and present danger". "I cling to Him; and, He holds me fast" is the basic theme for the painting! My canon of work displays The Lord's immense presence in creation and daily life.
Ephesians 6:12 says that our struggle is against ...the dark world and the spiritual forces of evil. This present pandemic is certainly a plague that has caused much suffering and pain! Yet we, as believers, know that the darkness has not overcome the light! We have but to look to our Heavenly Father for guidance, direction, protection, and healing. No weapon formed against us will prosper.
My dear neighbor, Rachel Cuff, posed for this painting.
