Artist Statement

The artwork is a color abstraction based on God's grace, which is an indescribable sensation. Love, mercy, light, and joy are some of its other names. The essential point is that everyone knows what this means, but putting it into words is difficult. The harder it is to contain it with words, the more it strikes your spirit. These things can only be experienced through feelings. As a result, I decided to base this work of art on God's spiritual sense of protection, warmth, light, and love. Because it is the foundation of my craft, I am already familiar with this practice. My own personal experience(s) have also aided me in infusing the artwork with distinct lovely sentiments. I wanted to give some room for each individual to perceive the painting in their own way, rather than calling it after the topic of the Spiritual Battle. I don't want to influence the subconscious mind with preconceived notions; instead, I want everyone to be able to experience the freedom of their own perception. This is one of the most important principles in my craft, therefore I decided to apply it here as well.

How it fits into contest

The artwork is entirely focused on the principles of protection, faith, and trust found in Ephesians 6:10-20. The artwork was inspired by the verses John 8:32, Joshua 23:10, Joshua 1:9, Deuteronomy 3:22, 2 Thessalonians 3:3, and 2 Chronicles 20:15. Rather than focusing on the literal Spiritual Battle and the theme of fighting evil, I wanted to focus on the pleasant sensation of knowing that you are protected by God. This is reflected in the artwork as sensations of warmth and lightness through the light colors. It's a clear representation of God's euphoric guidance, which is the major part of the Spiritual Battle in Ephesians 6:10-20.
