Artist Statement

This piece talks about the challenges and struggles of batting with various mental illnesses. How it affects a person's mind, controls thoughts and emotions.

How it fits into contest

The artwork speaks about a spiritual journey that a person who is struggling with mental illnesses is going through. The hole art piece is made on a heavy sheet of stainless steel metal therefore it represents the armour of God and the weight that comes with it. Sometimes the biggest evil that we have to fight against is our own mind and doubts. The piece is showing how a struggling spirit may look like, how difficult the battle can be.
