Hidden Darkness is about the Seven Deadly sins (behaviors) we need to be aware of in our walk with Jesus.

Since sin comes at us sometimes in not so obvious ways, the film reminds us of certain sinful behaviors that could interfere in a righteous walk with Christ, and how equipping ourselves with the armor of God can fight these behaviors off.

Really?

I don’t know about you, but I believe if evil was that noticeable, it would be easier to detect.
A truer depiction of evil would look a little something like this.

Unfortunately, this is the DARKNESS of sin.
Sin is patient. Sin is cunning, and most of all, sin is purposeful.

1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil PROWLS around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

So evil doesn’t stand out as a two horned creature with a pitch fork.
Additionally, evil doesn’t ONLY appear in commonly known sins like: lying, stealing, killing, fornication and adultery. OH NO, sinful behaviors can appear in our everyday “NORMAL” lives.

The behaviors I’m speaking of are
The Seven Deadly sins...

The first one is LUST- (beat) which is a STRONG PASSION or LONGING, especially for SEXUAL desires.
**The CURE for LUST is chastity and self- control. This controls passion and refocuses your energy for the good of others.

The Second is GLUTTONY-
which is an excessive and ongoing eating of food or drink. (beat)
**THE CURE for GLUTTONY is SELF-RESTRAINT, and growing your desire to be healthy. Therefore, making one fit to serve others.

Number 3...GREED-(beat)
Greed is an excessive pursuit of material goods.

** THE CURE is CHARITY, which redirects GREED by putting the desire to help others above storing up treasure for one’s self.

Number four…SLOTH-
Which is an excessive laziness or the failure to act and utilize one’s talents.

**THE CURE, is DILIGENCE or ZEAL. This places the interest of others above a life of ease and relaxation.

The Fifth is WRATH-
Wrath is a strong anger and hate towards another person.
**PATIENCE is the cure. We should strive to understand the needs of others before acting or speaking.

Number Six...ENVY
Envy is the intense desire to have someone else’s possessions, qualities or luck.
**THE CURE is KINDNESS, for it places the desire to help others above the need to supersede them.

And finally, number 7. PRIDE-
Pride is an excessive view of one's self without regard for others.
**Humility CURES pride by removing one's ego and boastfulness, therefore allowing the attitude of service. (beat)

Each one of these seven deadly sins has its root in the desire for more, and the human need for excess.
And each of these goes against the root of Christianity which is the love for God, love for our fellow man, and love for our bodies.

And finally, in Ephesians 6:10-20, God tells us to put on the FULL ARMOR OF GOD, for preparedness to stand against the devil’s schemes.

So put on the BELT of truth,
the BREASTPLATE of righteousness,
Fit your FEET with the gospel of peace,
use the SHEILD of faith to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one,
protect your head with the HELMET of salvation, and finally, the SWORD, which is the word of God.

To have access to this armor, we must study the word of God and change our hearts. Wherefore,
We are to be in the world, but not of the world. To do so, you can’t simply be in Christ, Christ needs to be in you. BIG DIFFERENCE.

The film started with Satan taking his stand upon the world, and as in most films, the Protagonist wins in the end, and so will Jesus.

So choose your team. The uniform for God’s team…which indeed is the armor of God, has been purchased by Jesus himself, the only cost is OBEDIENCE.
