The watercolor painting is of my Uncle Hicks, who's 111 years old. He was a Super Centurion (a person who has lived 100 years and plus). His real name was Wash, which he didn't care about because it sounded like a slave's name to him. The painting is him sitting with his bible, which is worn out but held together with yellow duct tape. During their time growing up, births were documented in the bible and he still had his original bible from birth, although it was a little worn out. He's reflecting on the 'Whole Armor of God', Ephesians 6: 10-20. The picture of himself reflecting on his early beginnings walking with the Lord. His foundation was built by a little boy on 'Training a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.' (Proverbs 22:6). He lived a life of pure admiration and pure joy for the Lord as well as the word of God. Our battles are and can be every day, but being equipped for the journey to stand firm until his return. The armor of God equips his people to 'Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)

The Armor of God is a worthwhile period. Therefore, we think it doesn't conform today as we get older. It was unplanned. Some have a melody about it and others have learned the words by heart. We somehow have grown away from its truth. The enemy, which is Satan, somehow has neutralized the power of the word in our lives. However, we have forgotten about the power in the word, but it's not for kids only. Such like the Armor suit that can be purchased for kids. My Uncle showed us that as we grow you need the Armor of God more and more every moment and every second each day. It's acceptable to all ages the fight for freedom. We should wake up each day in praise. Suited up with the Whole Armor of God by asking the Lord to help us put ourselves on our breast plate of righteousness as well as the shield of Faith, the sword of the spirit, a belt of truth. Helmets and shoes are definitely important. Just aren't shown. We would be ready for all things. We have peace that comes from the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Armor of God brings us through all things such as struggles, evil days, enemies attacking us. We are equipped until the end. Suit up daily for the spiritual battles.
