Artist bio

I have been a follower of Jesus, since I turned 21. I was attending Ontario College of Art at the time. I was enjoying the partying life, but knew there was something missing. When my mom invited me to church, I was ready to go. I heard the gospel and the rest was history. I'm falling more in love with Jesus,God and the Holy Spirit everyday. I have retired from teaching, and I'm busy painting and serving at my local church. I want to start to focus more on Christian art and sharing my faith through visual images.

Artist Statement

The rock in the picture signifies Jesus, my rock and refuge. King David often describes the Lord as his rock. In 2 Samuel he sings, "The Lord is my rock and my fortress and deliverer.

How it fits into contest

The dark forest represents the dark spiritual forces that the Christian does battle against in prayer. The one figure is kneeling in prayer and the other is watching. Ephesians 6:18 says "With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit. The light in between the trees, symbols the Spirit of Christ breaking through the darkness.
