After Chloe' performed, Chazz took her hand and said "Young lady you have the gift not too many people have, the natural gift, but you have it. You will audition for different roles and you may not get every part you audition for, that is only because you are not what they are looking for at that moment. But don't stop because you are going to make it. And how old are you, 15 years old – Oh, My God!!" Also that night, Mr. Wilson’s wife, Constanza Romero, hugged Chloe' and told her "August would have been so proud of you.” Chloe' was 15 years old and a freshman at Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School, where she is majoring in Theater. Clipped Wings Of An Angel

Artist Statement

Clipped Wings of an Angel is 1 of 6 selections from (BEING 15) a Gospel Play with Music.

The 1 hour Gospel Play with Music is about two 15 year old freshmen girls from a Performing Arts High School in New Haven, Connecticut showcasing their talents to a talent scout and then realize that they have to make some real life decision – to stand on God's word or use the world method of solving their problem, which could lead them down a life of pain and suffering.

How it fits into contest

THESE ARE THE SPCRITURES I USE IN (BEING 15)

We have to remember Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but
against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against
the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms"

Psalms 91

Father, I praise You that I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and that I shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of You, Lord, "The Lord is my refuge and my fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I confidently trust!"

When I came home I started listening to "Fred Hammond "No Weapon Form Against Me" and I prayed in the name of Jesus to rebuke my enemies. Do you know the next day the 4 of them just walked by and never bothered me again.

I understand, I'm not letting anything take the place of my Lord and Savior. We have to do our part as we grow in Christ to keep learning, because God say in Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge, because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as
my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children."

Oh my God, that is why God tells us to "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." Joshua 1:18, Hey I remember the verse for Sunday School.

I'm feeling you girl, I want to know everything that I need to be doing to for fill God's will. So I will get my reading done because it is my desire to be the Christian he want me to be.

Choir Member 1: (AS CLIPPED WINGS OF AN ANGELA END SPEAK) "How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to God's word. Seek Him with all your heart; do not stray from God commands. Hide God's word in your heart that you might not sin against Him.
Psalms 119:9-11

Choir Member 2: The Apostle Paul wrote "For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of Power"!!! 1 Corinthians 4:20

So Tina; what are you going to do now the Lord has open your eyes, ears and heart to his word. I believe it is time for you to start to add the works to your faith because the Bible says "For as the body without the spirit is dead so faith without works is dead also" James 2:26

PSALM 140,
Rescue me, Lord, from evildoers;
protect me from the violent,
who devise evil plans in their hearts
and stir up war every day
They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent's;
the poison of vipers is on their lips.
Keep me safe, Lord, from the hands of the wicked;
protect me from the violent,
who devise ways to trip my feet.
The arrogant have hidden a snare for me;
they have spread out the cords of their net
and have set traps for me along my path.
I say to the Lord, "You are my God."
Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy.
Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer,
you shield my head in the day of battle.
Do not grant the wicked their desires, Lord;
do not let their plans succeed.
Those who surround me proudly rear their heads;
may the mischief of their lips engulf them.
May burning coals fall on them;
may they be thrown into the fire,
into miry pits, never to rise.
May slanderers not be established in the land;
may disaster hunt down violent.
I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor
and upholds the cause of the needy.
Surely the righteous will praise your name,
and the upright will live in your presence.

Clipped Wings of an Angel

Lyrics and Melody by Thayer Baker Music by Luther A. Blackwell Jr.

Verse
I don't know how
I don't know when
I just know that, when I try to fly The wind was not my friend
I didn't know Just where to go
I didn't know just what to do
All I know is that I need something more And Lord that something more is you Lord teach me to fly into your presents
I need to spread my wings
I need to fly into the heavens And to Your praises I will sing I was paralyzed by my life Trying to do it on my own
But here I stand Trying to Fly
With a Clipped Wings of an Angel

(Repeat Verse)

Bridge
It might a been Your Mercy It could a been Your Grace
It must a been Your Love that found me When I, try to hide my face from You
I knew I wasn't right
And that I was in despair
I knew I needed something more
And Lord that something more is You So here I stand Lord
Trying to Fly
With Clipped Wings of an Angel
