To every mama in the black community: As a mother, I know firsthand what it's like to pour love and prayer into your children ceaselessly. But as a white woman, I will never know the prayers that you pray for your children. For their safety. For their lives. For them to be seen as human beings and equal members of society instead of "less than." I will never have to fear every time my children leave the house that they won't return simply because someone hated them for their skin tone.
I will always fear for my kids and worry about their safety, but not in the same way that you do. My heart breaks for this heavy burden that you carry and the reality that you face.
So in this trying time, let this be a reminder that God sees you, mama. He catches every tear and hears every prayer like an arrow piercing straight into His heart.
I commend you. I honor you. I pray for you. And I stand beside you as an ally in this war against racism.
Keep lifting your children up in prayer. Keep covering them in the blood of Jesus each and every day. Keep fighting for them. Your prayers do not fall on deaf ears.
I'm convinced that no earthly thing will ever be as powerful as a praying mama. You are all warriors. "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places." Ephesians 6:12 AMP
