I work from a photo. I took a photo of my son and transfer it to a black paper and worked on it with colored pencils. I love the black paper because it gives such a dramatic effect.

This work is based on James 4:7. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
On this portrait, I tried to show the constant struggle in our minds through the light on his face. The dark side representing the bad thoughts, and the light side representing the light of God coming through with positive thoughts to banish the dark of his mind.
Through prayer and constantly submitting to God, we can conquer evil.
