Artist bio

Biography: Hi, I am a spiritual painter from Colorado. I like to paint faith-based artwork, as well as nature, wildlife, ocean art, and cubist works. My artistic style would be a mix of several styles, abstract expressionism, cubism, modern, and figurative. Many of my faith-based paintings have an allegory message of faith, death, overcoming evil or environmental. I also incorporate things from nature into several of my works, stone, shells, and plants. I do believe we should all be stewards of our forests and oceans. I get my inspiration from nature as a park patrol ranger, I spend many hours a week in the mountains of Colorado protecting our natural resources. I am an avid scuba diver, and like to paint ocean scenes. My faith-based paintings come from my relationship with god, and dreams, which are spiritual in nature. My hope is that people get inspiration, enjoyment, and pleasure from viewing my paintings. Artist Statement: Those who speak in spiritual terms routinely refer to God as creator but seldom see ‘creator’ as the literal term for ‘artist’. I am suggesting you take the term ‘creator’ quite literally. You are seeking to forge a creative alliance, artist-to-artist, with the Great Creator God. Personal Statement: I believe we are all stewards of our planet; each individual should do whatever they can to preserve our wildlife, ocean, forests and air. Stand up for your beliefs, and focus on the positive things in life. Life is short, use your time wisely. Love, Laugh, make new friends, and enjoy Art! Greatest man in history, had no servants, yet they called him Master. Had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today🙏🏻. His name is Jesus.❤ You can find some of my paintings on display at the Brighton, Co. Title

Michael Slaying Devil

Medium/Genre

Painting

Artist Statement

This is my representation of Archangel Michael slaying a devil. St. Michael the Archangel, illustrious leader of the heavenly army, defend us in the battle against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the world of darkness and the spirit of wickedness in high places. ... The Lord has entrusted to you the task of leading the souls of the redeemed to heavenly blessedness. I like the image for it projects a very strong angel, fighting the enemy. The shield that Michael carries is my shield of faith against evil and tyranny.

How it fits into contest

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
By painting Archangel Michael I imagine all of the evil in today's world, and how Archangel Michael, can help us to fight against evil and be strong against our enemies.
