This film is a docu-commentary on the symbiosis of humans and nature and its resilience in the face of constant destruction. The happenings of the world has given people an excuse to cycle through endless streams of negativity via news channels and these have us feeling hopeless. Therefore, for this video, I aimed to reverse the narrative on the news and show that for every act of evil there is a battle of good being waged, by nature and by man. The film is cut into 3 scenes that follow an emergent pattern of good vs evil vs good...
The poem in the beginning (an original) sets the foundation for the spiritual and literal war that humans and nature face daily, all leading up to the day we come face to face with our Heavenly Father. -Ephesians 6:16 "In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one." The shield of faith is our willingness to believe and the hope that we have in ourselves and others. For example, we see mass migration of refugees. These people act on the faith they have that there is better and they pray to see this revealed as a promise of God. -Ephesians 6:19 "Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel" God is all around us as witnessed by the beauty of nature. This line transcends literal connotations. It speaks life, manifestation, spiritualism and gives power to empower. Everyone and everything, earth/ nature and humans, has a story and that story has the power to transform a life according to the will of God. This is reminiscent of another line quoted in the film: -[Satan] "would want you to feel cut off from everyone else, because if it's just you alone, your're not as much of a threat". JK Rowling This line speaks to the evil happening around us and to us, making us feel scared and alone and causes humans to shun their faith. The devil works by isolating us from the intentions of God. But if we come together as a unit, supporting those around us as well as our environment we are better equipped to fight this battle...we will realize that the devil has no power when we praise the name of God in chorus. -1 John 5: 4: "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world." In the end God has promised us new life. There is no war waged that God hasn't already won. Therefore despite the negativity, we praise him for the things yet to be seen. We praise him for the gift of life and the beauty of nature.
