Tara’s literature is based on true events, and she hopes it inspires young adults to persevere through life’s adversities as personal goals are always achievable… “Never Give Up”. Tara’s inspiration for her art and literature stems from her grandmother. Tara’s grandmother was a remarkable woman, she was a wonderful combination of warmth and kindness, love and laughter. As a child, Tara was fortunate to have a loving grandmother, as Tara’s parents are divorced and during the period from when she was born to the age of seventeen, Tara move continuously. Living in two countries, two provinces and attending seven schools to include private preschool in Georgetown, Guyana, public and catholic schools in Canada. Tara’s art and literature provides elements of a healthy childhood development fostered through a stable environment provided by her Gran. “Don’t look back – forward infinite energy, infinite enthusiasm, infinite daring and infinite patience – then alone can great deeds be accomplished.” Swami Vivekananda. Tara’s art shares a glimpse of her life experiences and inner values…. “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life; dream of it; think of it; live on that idea. Let the brain, the body, muscles, nerves, every part of your body be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, and this is the way great spiritual giants are produced.” Swami Vivekananda. Tara’s artistic endeavours blossomed over the past five years with a shift of priorities in personal, academic and professional pursuits. Her inner strength and perseverance are rooted within her mixed heritage of Hindu and Roman Catholic philosophy. Tara is fortune to have a very supportive nuclear family, with two loving sons who embrace her artistic initiatives.

Artist Statement

“Varanasi is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh dating to the 11th century B.C. Regarded as the spiritual capital of India, the city draws Hindu pilgrims who bathe in the Ganges River’s sacred waters and perform funeral rites. Along the city's winding streets are some 2,000 temples, including Kashi Vishwanath, the “Golden Temple,” dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. It is one of the most sacred sites in India because it is believed to have been the home of Lord Shiva.”
