This painting was inspired by a scene my wife and I experienced in Vancouver, Canada ~ however, the ingredients of the scene are seen in many cities in the United States, Canada and abroad. What we usually do not see are the unseen principalities of both the good and the evil ~ I have made them visual in this work. Also, unseen are the reasons these unfortunates inhabit the streets . . . only their bodies, conditions and actions are seen by us. Only God, our Lord of Justice, Mercy and Love, truly and fully knows their stories. Thus the wheat, the tares and the principalities are illustrated.

Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,

This painting illustrates the unseen principalities, the powers, the rulers of the darkness of this age, and the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places which are outlined in Ephesians 6:10-20. It is an illustration of some of the consequences of not arming oneself for the spiritual battle. It also illustrates God's spiritual intervention through His unseen and seen messengers.
