This piece depicts a girl praying before the cross while the word of God, acting as the armor of God, simultaneously holds her up and protects her from the flaming arrows shot by the dark forces beneath her.

We gain our spiritual armor by learning from the word of God. The girl in this piece is being held up by the word of God (v. 11). The word of God acts as the shield or the armor by protecting her from the flaming arrows of the dark forces beneath her (v. 16). In the midst of this chaos, she continues to pray before the cross (v.18).
