Artist bio

My name is Daniel Zamitiz, I live and work in Mexico City, Mexico. Since I was a child I always had the desire to be a painter, so I studied visual arts at university. I led a bohemian artist life until God restored my life more than 12 years ago. Since then I wanted to serve him with everything I do and that included my profession as an artist. At first I didn't know how to do it, so God inspired me little by little by putting on his designs and I had to learn to paint again as God wanted me to. Now my paintings speak of the revelation that God gives me every day through His Word. I am a graduate of UNAM and have worked for more than 15 years as a plastic artist with nearly 200 solo and group exhibitions in my country and abroad. I have been selected 2 times at the Beijing International Art Biennale (2012 and 2015) and the National Art Museum of China acquired my work for its collection in 2015.

The Lord always goes before me in every battle.

Artist Statement

In this work I have tried to be inspired by God through his word as the majority of my work.

How it fits into contest

The Lord always goes before me in every battle

This chart is based on the word of Ephesians 6: 10-20 and Joshua 5: 13-15. The Lion symbolizes Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah and just as Joshua appeared to him before going to take the promised land meets the child before going to war. The red scarf on the child's forehead symbolizes the blood of Christ who is the helmet of salvation, his white clothes are the breastplate of justice and also purity, the green belt is the belt of truth, the raised hand brings the sword of the spirit that although it is not seen is proclaiming with his mouth the word of God.
The boy is dressed in the colors of the flag of my country (Mexico) and also symbolizes that the Lord always goes before my nation every time they seek His advice and put Him first before every battle.
Just as a child it is impossible for him to win a battle if the Lord does not go before us.

I Daniel Zamitiz am the only author in the creation of this work.
